Chili Cook-Off Raises Money For Cancer Society

Posted: Updated:

A Texoma care center held a Chili Cook-Off Thursday in efforts to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

The Senior Care Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wichita Falls hosted the cook-off. There were some fantastic judges including our own Chris Horgen. They did a lot of tasting to find the best chili, and it was not easy. A Peoples Choice Award was also handed out. All in an effort to raise money for a great cause.

"We wanted to have a benefit at Senior Care to raise money for our Relay For Life Team," said Michelle Burrus. "It benefits the American Cancer Society, and we tried to think of something that would be involvement for the community to get some of our vendors and some of our community folks to participate. So, we came up with a chili cook-off. and we've had a fantastic response."

Senior Care offers long term care for seniors and also provides short term rehabilitation for seniors.
