One day-only events in New York and Chicago, "A Goldmine of Planet Bordeaux Wines," bring together over 60 of the most affordable and accessible wines from France's most famous wine producing region

NEW YORK, Feb. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The very name "Bordeaux" conjures up the image of a glass of wine. For everyone who loves wine from this region, located in the Southwest part of France, and for everyone who wishes they knew more about the world's most famous wine region, "A Goldmine of Planet Bordeaux," an event sponsored by the Bordeaux & Bordeaux Superieur Winemakers' Association, offers a unique opportunity to discover the most accessible, affordable and delicious wines that Bordeaux has to offer. Every one of the 60 wines selected for these events in New York (March 5, Metropolitan Pavilion) and Chicago (April 19, The Skydeck in Willis Tower) represents value for money and are readily available in the United States.

"We decided to create fun, approachable events at an affordable ticket price that would give connoisseurs and novices alike the chance to take a deeper look at Bordeaux wines. What better way to learn about wine than to actually speak to the people who make the best wines in the world?"

"A Goldmine of Planet Bordeaux Wines" provides a convivial atmosphere in which experts and amateurs can rub elbows with Bordeaux winemakers as they taste wines that were hand-selected by a panel of judges on the basis of taste, value and artisanal production. Tickets for each event are $35 and are available via LocalWineEvents.com. 

  • Each event will feature Press and Trade specific hours (11 am-5 pm) and will be open to the public from 5 pm-8 pm, including walk-around tastings of 60 different wines, buffet snacks and sweets, and free seminar options.
  • In New York the seminar will be a Master Class led by Kevin Zraly, founder of the Windows on the World Wine School, who will be teaching would-be wine aficionados about the powerful '09 and '10 vintages of Bordeaux wines.
  • In Chicago, "A Goldmine of Planet Bordeaux" will take place before the World Wine Meetings America a convention for wines from Europe and hosted buyers from North and South America.
  • Attendees at both events are invited to participate in the judging of "My Bordeaux Wine is…," the video contest on the Planet Bordeaux Channel on youtube.com by selecting and writing a short text on which Chateau's video has the best content and why. Entries will be judged on originality, and the best answer will win a gift certificate for a case of wine.
