Members of a Wichita Falls soccer club will host their second annual "The XPRESS" to raise money to provide scholarships to area boys and girls who would like to play club soccer but don't have the means to do so. Proceeds will also go toward the building of future soccer practice and play facilities in Wichita Falls.
The courses take participants through the trails of Lake Wichita Park. Last year's finishing times by the runners were very impressive; a testament to the flat and fast course by the lake.
This year's The XPRESS is Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls. The fundraiser features three runs: a half-marathon, 12K, and 5K. After and during the races, participants can enjoy a free concert featuring Brother Sharp. Barbecue will be served and runners will receive a discount on the food. Each participant will receive a T-shirt, and can also enter various on-site drawings for prizes. Medals for 1, 2, 3 in various age brackets and all Half Marathoners get a Finishing medal.
Register at www.runtheexpress.com. If you'd like more information about this fundraiser, please call Michael Brown at (940) 642-1355.
