On Saturday, more than 500 people will converge at MPEC to participate in the second annual Muscular Dystrophy Association Muscle Walk. This family friendly event is expected to raise $40,000 to support MDA funded programs of research and health care services to the families we serve in the Wichita Falls and surrounding areas.
Muscle Walk participants and Muscle Walk teams can register for the event by visiting www.musclewalkmda.org or by contacting the local MDA office at (940)696-5581 or (325)675-0459. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Participants will begin the victory lap inside the MPEC at approximately 10 a.m.
Individuals are encouraged to raise at least $70 in donations, which is the cost to fund one minute of MDA research. Many teams will reach out to Facebook friends as part of their fundraising effort.
