Color Me Running Event Draws 600

Posted: Updated:

The Color Me Running event took place at Christ Academy Saturday morning. An estimated 600 runners came out to get a little exercise and some color. Runners of all ages and speeds participated in the 5K. There was one rule, they had to wear a white shirt.

"We really just wanted to offer something to the community. This does raise money for Christ Academy, but we wanted to kind of do a win-win where it helps our school, it helps our sister school in Kenya, which is also what some of our funds are going to. We have a Christ Academy school in Kenya. Just also to do something for the community that's fun and definitely family friendly,' said Kim McClellan.

Organizers came up with this idea a couple of months ago and it was a hit from the start.
