Saturday morning and afternoon Habitat for Humanity got to work in Wichita Falls. Volunteers were at 13th and Austin in Wichita Falls building a new house! The lucky family will move in, in about four months when it's done. Volunteers says when they hand over the keys to a new home they're also handing over a new life and new responsibilities.
"We've discovered that, not only are we building homes, but we're building the foundation of a family. We're building hope,we're building peace, freedom, opportunity. All those things come with the home," said Barbara Lyne with Habitat for Humanity.
The organization is always looking for volunteers ready to serve the community. They also have a store called Habitat's Builders Bargains. The call it a treasure-trove of home improvement materials that have been donated, and then sold to the public at up to 70 percent off retail. The store is located at 902 13th street. It's open Wednesday through Saturday.
