WASHINGTON, March 5, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Veterans Environmental Technologies Services, Inc. (VETS), a DC company that specializes in abatement and inspections of mold and lead has launched an aggressive campaign to educate and eradicateĀ lead paint hazardsĀ in the District's commercial and residential child occupied dwellings.

VETS has plans to educate the landlords and management companies on the perils of not having their units properly inspected and the tenants on their rights to live in a healthy environment. The DC Lead law makes the presence of lead-based paint hazards illegal in all residential dwelling units, in common areas in multifamily properties, and in child-occupied facilities such as daycares, built before 1978.

VETS will take its campaign to the Chamber of Commerce, contractors' associations, condominium associations, community groups, churches and other organizations to communicate the importance of local and federal laws that pertain to lead paint hazards.

"In keeping with our mission," said Jeffre Powell, president of VETS, "we must educate the public that not only do we provide a solution to this problem, but emphasis, that there is a real problem with mold and lead"

VETS is a service disable veteran owed company that employs veterans. VETS will be campaigning through out the metropolitan area with its war on lead. For more information on VETS or the DC Lead Law visit www.veteransets.com.
