Vernon's Urquizo Signs to College

Vernon Lion infielder and pitcher Brandon Urquizo signed Tuesday to play his college baseball at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas.

Urquizo was one of Texoma's best hitters in 2012, hitting .519 in his junior year.

He also struck out 75 hitters as a pitcher last year.

This year he's off to another hot start, hitting .406 with eleven runs batted in over his first eleven games of the year.

His Lions will play in the Windthorst Invitational this weekend, but their games Thursday will be played in Archer City. They'll play Holliday at 1:00 p.m. and Paradise at 5:00 p.m.
