Midwestern State moved ahead three spots to No. 19 in the National Fast-pitch
Coaches' Association Division II Poll released Wednesday afternoon.
The Mustangs have won their past nine games and 14 of
the past 15 to improve to 19-4 on the season. MSU's most recent seven wins have come
via the run-rule.
Midwestern State tops NCAA Division II with a .613 team
slugging percentage and ranks second to Fairmont State (W. Va.) with a .405 team
batting average.
The Mustangs are one of five teams from the South
Central Region to receive mention in the poll joining No. 1 West Texas A&M,
No. 10 Texas Woman's and No. 12 Colorado Mines while Abilene Christian is
receiving votes.
Midwestern plays host to the top-ranked Lady Buffs
(19-1) for a three-game series this weekend at Mustangs Park. The teams play a
single game Friday night at 7 p.m. before battling in a twin bill on Saturday
with the first pitch set for noon.
