Another Man Arrested In Connection to Shooting On Ave. K

Another arrest has been made in the
connection with the shooting that occurred overnight on March 14st.
Renard Vaughn was arrested and
charged on April 13th with aggravated robbery. His bond has
been set at $200,000. Police were told by an informant that the 23-year-old
was the driver of the vehicle. In an
interview Vaughn admitted to driving the suspects to and from the robbery in
his vehicle.
Albert Payten was previously
arrested with aggravated robbery. His bond has been set at
$750,000. The 32-year-old also known as "Red", is a known blood
gang member who was one of the two suspects sought by police in the shooting on
Avenue K.
A photo lineup including Payten was
shown to the two victims and a witness, who all identified him as being
involved in the shooting.
Darran Edward Farmer was also previously
arrested and charged with aggravated. The Affidavit states the 23
year-old also known as "DJ," is a known blood gang member.
Sergeant Donald Miller told
Newschannel 6 three men entered a home where they held the two residents up at
gun point and demanded money. As the suspects ran from the residence, at least
eight shots were fired. One victim was struck two times on the front porch,
while another was grazed on his left shoulder and hit in the left side of his
face. The bullet exited his head near the left ear.
The victims were taken to the
hospital and released.
The other suspects listed in the
affidavit were Darran Farmer, Albert Payten, Gregory Berry, and Terrance
Palmer.
