Man In Custody Following SWAT Stand Off

Posted: Updated:

An overnight stand-off forced residents to evacuate and call dozens of law enforcement to the scene.  At around 2 a.m. Wednesday, Wichita Falls Police were called to a possible hostage situation.

Oscar Montoya III barricaded himself inside a home on the 2300 block of 88th St.  Police say he was arrested and charged with burglary of habitation with intent to commit another felony.

Negotiators finally talked him out peacefully just before 5 a.m.

Police say SWAT was called out because the original called said Montoya had a gun.  Police did not find a weapon on Montoya.

No one was hurt during the incident.
