This week Congressman Mac Thornberry was in Texoma to talk about the economy and specifically manufacturing jobs.
As the nation's job growth remains sluggish and the economy continues to struggle Thornberry wanted to learn more about the operations at Pratt and Whitney.
The congressman wanted to hear about ideas or suggestions of how to turn around the economy.
Innovation and investment do not begin and end in Washington. It starts with employees at companies like Pratt and Whitney. It is their ideas, hard work, and their enthusiasm that drive our economy," said Rep. Thornberry.
He said that he looked forward to hearing their suggestions on how to give the economy a jump start that it needs.
During his visit to the facility, Thornberry toured the plant, meet with employees, and be presented with the National Association of Manufacturing's "Legislative Excellence Award."
Pratt and Whitney Wichita Falls facility works on manufacturing and repairs for a wide-range of aircraft engines. They also do some original equipment manufacturer specialty coatings.
