C.A.S.A Benefit Luncheon

Posted: Updated:

CASA of Red River is hosting Light of Hope on Friday, April 26, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Wichita Falls Country Club.  This event is an effort to educate our community on child abuse in our area; the lasting effects of child abuse and neglect; and to remember the 324 children we served last year.  This year's guest speaker will be a local CASA volunteer, Linda Boyd, and one of the children she has worked with the past year. Both will speak about their experience and how the CASA program has impacted their lives.

Child Advocates works to expedite the process of placing abused and neglected children in a safe, permanent home by providing trained volunteers to represent the child's best interests in the courts and the child protective system.  In 2012, we served 324 children - about 60% of the children who were in CPS care.  Our goal is to raise awareness at this event and to recruit CASA volunteers allowing us to serve 100% of kids who are victims of abuse and/or neglect.

Admission is free but everyone attending must RSVP by April 19, 2013, to Stephanie or Lauren at 940-766-0552 / sgorham@casawf.org.
