Midwestern State returned to the National Fast-pitch Coaches' Association Division II Poll at No. 22 as released Wednesday afternoon.
The Mustangs have won seven of their last eight games after taking two of three from No. 7-ranked Texas Woman's University over the weekend and sweeping two from Texas-Permian Basin on Tuesday to move to 31-12 on the season.
Midwestern is now 6-4 against nationally ranked opposition this season.
The Mustangs are one of five teams from the South Central Region to receive mention in the poll joining No. 2 West Texas A&M (30-4), No. 9 Colorado Mines (29-4-1) and No. 15 Texas Woman's (34-9) while St. Mary's (Texas) is receiving votes.
MSU returns to Lone Star Conference play with a three-game series this weekend at Tarleton State. The teams play a doubleheader Friday at 5 and 7 p.m. before closing out the set with a single game on Saturday at noon.
