Earthquake In Central Oklahoma

The U.S. Geological Survey said nine earthquakes shook central Oklahoma.        

The USGS reports the quakes started with a 3.0 magnitude tremor 1:45 a.m. early this morning. The largest were a 4.3 and 4.2 magnitude quakes at 1:56 a.m. and 5:15 a.m.

The most recent was magnitude 3.6 recorded near Luther where seven of the quakes were centered. The quakes include a 3.5 magnitude tremor and others measured at magnitudes 3.3 and 2.8 and two others of magnitude 3.0.

All the quakes were centered in an area 25-50 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.

Authorities said there have been no reports of injury or damage.

Geologists said quakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest that are felt by humans.
