This past fall, senior Delaney Driver led Christ Academy volleyball to the school's first-ever state title.
Tuesday she made more history, becoming the first Warrior athlete to sign a college scholarship.
She'll play volleyball at San Jacinto College. The Ravens are a Junior College powerhouse, finishing third at the national tournament this past season.
Delaney said she was proud to break new ground at Christ Academy.
"It hasn't really sunk in yet," she said. "It's a huge honor, though, that I get to represent my school and be the first one to sign here. I hope that there are many others that follow behind me, but it's a big honor that I get to be the first one."
Driver said she made the choice to play in junior college, hoping to round out her game for a chance to play at the D-I level.
"Originally I was wanting to go the Division-II route," she said. "The more I looked into it, I feel that I have a lot of potential still left, and I would love to play Division I. And so I started looking at junior college programs."
She also said she's open to playing almost any position at the college level, due to her size and versatility.
