SUV And Semi Accident

Posted: Updated:

A semi-truck lost its brakes on a busy Wichita Falls road causing a scary injury accident.

It happened just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Kemp Blvd. and Highway 79. That's near the Archer County line.

A Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper told Newschannel 6 the man driving the semi tried to stop as he approached intersection, but couldn't. He warned oncoming traffic by honking his horn. Some drivers were able to get out of the way, but a woman headed south on Hwy. 79 didn't see the semi and crashed into it.

The woman, who was driving an SUV, was taken to United Regional. Her condition is unknown at this time.
