Three Coyotes to Play Together in College

Three Wichita Falls High School Coyote soccer players signed Monday to play together at Northeastern Texas Community College.

Forward Ariel Maldonado, midfielder Pedro Reza and goalie Todd Lewis will all play at the same college in Mount Pleasant, Texas next year.

This season they helped lead the Coyotes to their first playoff win in ten years.

At the signing, first-year Coyote Head Coach Patrick McCauley said this was a memorable year for the whole program.

"I was with these kids the last two years as an assistant," McCauley said Monday. "But for me, this is my first graduating class as a head coach so it's going to be a year that I never forget, and it's going to be a year that these kids don't forget."

He also said it will benefit the players to be able to go to college together.

"To be able to go off to school, it's a new chapter of your life. To be able to go with somebody you're familiar with, somebody that you've played soccer [with] before and been in classes with; I think it's encouraging, and motivating, and helps make the transition a lot easier."

They Coyotes finished this season with a record of 11-7-5 as Area Champions.
