Rider's Beeman Joins Sister at Vernon College

For the second-straight year, a Beeman is going from Rider to Vernon College.

Rider second-baseman Morgan Beeman signed to play for the Lady Chaparrals next season.

Beeman was first-team All-District 4-4A last season, and an honorable mention in her sophomore year, for Head Coach Alisha Crouch.

Now she joins a Vernon College team that was made up of about half local players this season, including her older sister Taylor Beeman.

"[Taylor] has another year, her second year next year," the younger Beeman said Wednesday.

"And Karly Gibson will be coming there next year to play ball with me too, I've played ball with her for years."

Gibson, another Rider senior, signed in January.

"It was just another great opportunity to continue playing softball that had opened up for me," Beeman said. "And the fact that it wasn't very far away from home made it great, too.
