Three Wildcats Drafted by USHL

Three Wichita Falls Wildcats were selected in the 2013 USHL Draft this week.

Goaltender Evan Cowley went in the second round, 26th overall to the Sioux City (Iowa) Musketeers of the Junior-A, Tier-1 league.

Conor O'Neil went in the 17th round, 251st overall to the Lincoln (Neb.) Stars.

Brian LeBlanc was taken in the 26th round, 381st overall by the Chicago Steel, where he started last season before coming to the Wildcats in January.

Being drafted does not necessarily mean the players will be leaving the Wildcats, but it makes it far more likely.

Cowley also is expected to be selected in the NHL Draft in June, but actually could leave for the USA Hockey Development program, after playing for Team USA in a tournament this year.

The NAHL Draft is scheduled for June 4th.
