Family Health Center to Host Health Fair

The Wichita Falls Family Health Center will host a health fair on Saturday. The fair is free and open to the public from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the MPEC Ray Clymer Exhibit Hall in Wichita Falls. The first 150 people will receive free lab screenings.

The event is designed to educate the community about healthy behaviors and promote an active lifestyle. There will be face painting for the kids and fun for all. The Family Health Center physicians will provide medical advice for the entire family on a wide range of topics for men, women, teenagers and children. In addition, direct access to a number of local physicians and health related specialists will be on hand.

Attendees will learn about everything from diet and nutrition to disease prevention. Some of the free services that will be provided are:

  • Eye Screening
  • Dental Screening
  • Counseling
  • Diabetes test
  • Cholesterol test
  • Blood Pressure
  • Weight Screening
  • Massage Therapy
  • "Discover Your Health Age" test

The Family Health Center was founded in 1979 with the mission to provide complete medical care to the residents of Wichita Falls and its surrounding areas. The facility is also home to the Wichita Falls Family Practice Residency Program. From pediatrics to geriatrics, they are committed to providing the best quality care for patients of all ages.  The Family Health Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, closed from noon to 1 p.m. Same day appointments are available and walk-ins welcome.
