Man Sentenced For Arson

Posted: Updated:

A former Cameron Gardens Volunteer Firefighter has been sentenced to ten years in prison.

Kyle Harmon was arrested in 2010 and admitted to setting several fires, including one that badly injured a fellow firefighter in 2005. Harmon was charged with one count of arson and one count arson causing bodily injury or death.

Judge Mark Price dismissed the simple arson charge.

The 2005 fire sent another firefighter, Dwight Murphy, to a Dallas hospital, where he spent several weeks recovering.

According to the District Clerk's Office, Harmon will be serving his prison sentence in the Wichita County jail where he was already incarcerated.
