Rider Baseball Advances to State; Head Coach Steps Down

Rider Baseball advanced to the State Tournament for the 3rd time in 4 years, after beating Cleburne 2 straight times on Friday night. The Raiders will face Tomball in the State Semifinals on Thursday in Austin, TX.

After the Raider's big win on Friday night, Head Coach Scot Green announced to the team that this will be his last season as Rider's Baseball coach. Green, announced that family is the main reason he will be leaving the team. Gage Green, his son and former Rider athlete, is currently playing Baseball at Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater, OK. With the extra free time he will have after this season is over, he plans to watch his son play as much as he can.

Rider is just two wins away from giving Scot Green his 2nd State Championship in four years. Stay tuned to Newschannel Six for all the highlights of Thursday's State Semifinal game!
