Sentenced To Death

In a developing story we've been following.

The man found guilty of two murders will be sentenced to death.

Mica Martinez appeared in Comanche County court room for formal sentencing Monday.

A jury found the 32-year-old guilty last month of murdering Carl and Martha Miller in 2009.

The Miller's were beaten to death during a home invasion.  Both Died days after being hospitalized. 

The jury recommended the death penalty for both counts of murder in the first degree.

The defense presented their witnesses, begging the jury to spare his life.

In addition, Martinez faces assault and battery charges for attacking the couple's son who survived the incident.

His execution is set for September 30th, 2013.

    A Department of Public Safety Trooper stopped to help what looked like a broken down car Saturday afternoon. When the Trooper got close to the vehicle the driver took off running.It happened around Clyde Morgan Road and Turkey Ranch Road. The suspect vanished into a wooded area. Wichita and Archer County Sheriff Deputies helped in the search.
