Olney: Council "Floats" Pool Decision

Residents in Olney want the pool open, and they are willing to foot the bill.

A group of citizens asked Olney City Council Monday night if they can pay to fill the city pool. Councilors are entertaining the idea, but said they want to work out a few issues first.

Councilors want to make sure the city has clean tankers to transport water to the pool, and they will have to work on circumventing an ordinance that states the City Pool will remain closed during a time of drought. The city also wants to check with the Health Department to make sure it will be okay to open the pool.

Council will hold a special meeting Monday, June 17, to vote on the issue.
