As is common, there were a good number of changes to the original Oil Bowl rosters when players began checking in on Tuesday.
Some of the notable additions were Stamford quarterback Hagen Hutchinson, a Midwestern State signee, who decided on Tuesday to come up for the game and will play for the West team in the same backfield as Munday's Dee Paul.
"I've known Dee Paul pretty much my whole life," Hutchinson said. "You know, we're pretty good buds. It'll be fun to play with him instead of against him for this occasion."
Both led their teams to Class A state championships in football this past fall, with the Moguls narrowly defeating the Bulldogs 35-28 in a regular-season meeting in Munday. It was Stamford's only loss of the year and Munday's only close win.
Also joining the roster late Tuesday were a pair of Rider Raiders. Brandon Williams (MSU signee) and D.J. Arnold (ACU) will play for the East team, along with Bowie's Tod Jackson, Henrietta's Parker West and Nocona's Tate Fenoglio.
Fenoglio told us he had an offer from Texas A&M-Commerce, but decided to end his playing career and instead study at Texas A&M in College Station.
With his football career likely coming to an end, Fenoglio said he couldn't pass up one more chance to play.
"There was no way I was turning down this one," said Fenoglio, who rushed for an area-high 2,235 yards this past season. "
You know, this is most likely my last football game, so it'd be an honor to come represent my area right here, so it's a great opportunity."
