Mental Evaluation For Murder Suspect

The Texoma teen accused of killing a 14-year-old Duncan girl will undergo a mental evaluation.

The office of the Stephens County District Attorney confirmed 16-year-old Michael Anthony Ray will be evaluated before anymore court proceedings.

Ray, a former boyfriend, is charged with 1st Degree Murder for the stabbing death of Alyssa Wiles.  The young girl was found dead in her home June 10th.  Duncan Police Chief Ford said Wiles was stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife.

Chief Ford said Ray confessed on June 11th and he took authorities to an area where a portion of the murder weapon was found.  Ray also attempted to destroy evidence by burning the clothes he was wearing and ran them over with a lawn mower.

Ray has pleaded not guilty and is being tried as an adult.

A 13-year-old who acted as a look out during the killing has been charges as an accessory to the murder.  He identity has not been released.
