Accident Involving Truck Tires

An accident happened Monday afternoon involving a truck.

It happened on Highway 287 near the Bell Rd. exit.

Police said a truck was carrying a load of tires and lost part of its load, spilling tires on the road.

The driver of a car in the accident tried to avoid the tires, but couldn't and ended up wrecking her vehicle.

Also the driver of an 18-wheeler/tanker truck also tried to avoid hitting the tires, but at least one tire went under the truck puncturing a hold in the tanker.  This caused some liquid cargo to be released.

Hazmat crews were called to the scene to take care of the problem.

Authorities are searching for the driver of the truck.
