James Parish

James Parish joined the Skywarn 6 Weather Team on June 1, 2013 after
graduating from Purdue University in May 2013 with a B.S. in Atmospheric
Science. While at Purdue, James was honored as "The Outstanding Senior for
the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences". He was also
recognized as a Newsmaker. James is excited to be working at
KAUZ-Newschannel 6 and forecasting for Texoma. Keeping viewers informed of
severe weather is his top priority.

James was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. Northeast Ohio's ever changing
weather conditions fueled James' passion for weather. During his college
years, James interned with WEWS-Newschannel 5, WOIO 19 Actions News, and
WLFI News 18. These experiences helped to prepare him for his future in
broadcast meteorology.

Purdue University offered James the opportunity to forecast for the Indiana
Department of Transportation. He also took various classes about mesoscale
processes and how to forecast them.

When James is not forecasting the weather, he enjoys watching all different
types of professional and collegiate sports. He also enjoys traveling,
golfing, fishing, and watching movies. Comedies and action-adventure films
are his favorites. James loves animals and meeting new people.

James is looking forward to living and working in Texoma. He hopes to share
his enthusiasm for weather with others.
