Late Night Shooting Suspected Arrested

We have new information on a shooting that happened on Thelma Dr. last week.

Wichita Falls Police confirmed the arrest of Dmitri Williams.  The 28-year-old was taken into custody just before 12:00p.m. on Monday on two aggravated assault warrants, and an unlawfully carrying a weapon charge.

Last Thursday night Wichita Falls Police responded to the scene of a gunshots call in the 4100 block of Thelma Dr.

Authorities said a group of friends were at home.  They said Williams fell asleep on a couch and when the person who lived in the home woke him up, Williams shot him in the leg.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Wichita Falls Police said Williams left the scene in a pick-up truck traveling in an unknown direction.

The second Aggravated Assault charge comes from an incident on Fenoglio Ave on Monday.  Police say Williams flashed a gun to at least two people near the North Texas State Hospital. They were not hurt.

Williams was arrested minutes later in the 1800 block of Grant St. while getting out of his truck.
