Suspect Not Guilty

Posted: Updated:

The Texoma man accused of breaking into an off-duty Wichita county jailer's apartment was in 89th District Court for bench trial Thursday afternoon.

Stephen Glen Turner was found not guilty for reason of insanity on both counts.

Turner was accused of burglary and assault against a public servant.

Police said Turner broke into the off-duty jailer's children's bedroom window in October 2011.

She fired a shot, but didn't hit Turner.

The off duty jailer then held Turner at gunpoint on the ground outside the apartment until officers arrived and arrested him.

He will remain in the Wichita County Jail, until this matter is transferred to another court to determine where he will receive treatment.
