Murder In The Falls Relationship Confirmed

A man is behind bars is accused of killing his father in the deadly weekend shooting in Wichita Falls.

Just before 3:30p.m. Saturday police were sent out on an assault with weapon call in the 700 block of Marconi St.  Authorities found Billy Jones and he was sent to United Regional.  The 62-year-old later died from a gunshot wound.

Police said his son, Jake Edward Jones, ran from the scene by hailing a taxi.  Police issued an arrest warrant for the 29-year-old Saturday night.  Just before 8:30p.m. authorities arrested Jake Jones.

He was booked into the Wichita County Jail and is charged with murder.  His bond has been set at $1-million.

His father's body was sent to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy.

Police continue to investigate the shooting.
