Disaster Helping Hands

A Texoma organization has been gathering supplies to help those still recovering from the West, Texas fertilizer plant explosion.

Disaster Helping hands has collected 5,400 pounds of food and six tons of furniture throughout the month of August.

Executive Director, Leon Green, said now they need money to pay for traveling expenses.  They will start loading Wednesday evening through Thursday.  They will be leaving Friday morning.

Green explained even though it's been a few months, residents there need help now more than ever.
