The Texas Sales Tax Holiday is August 9-11 for consumers on most Back-To-School items and the Better Business Bureau is here to help consumers make the most of the sales tax holiday, your BBB offers the following tips:
1) Comparison shop, carefully. Tax holiday "sales" and promotions may not be the bargains they appear to be. Make sure you're comparing "apples to apples" when looking at sales and promotions.
2) Talk to the retailer. Before making your purchase, ask the merchant how refunds and exchanges will be handled after the sales tax holiday ends. Refund and exchange policies are a big misconception, everyone needs to know that the stores set their own policies and nothing requires accepting refunds or exchanging items unless they are defective.
