High school volleyball season begins Monday around the state of Texas, with four Texoma teams in action on the first day of games.
The Burkburnett Lady Bulldogs will open the season in Bridgeport with freshman and JV games starting at 4 p.m. and varsity to follow.
The Vernon Lady Lions will also start on the road, in Childress. Freshman and junior varsity start at 5:30, with varsity set to start around 6:30.
The lone cross-Texoma matchup will feature two defending state semifinalists who are looking to rebuild, as Notre Dame hosts Holliday in new Lady Eagle coach Kelcie Morris's debut.
Freshman action starts at 2 p.m. with JV and varsity to follow.
Also Monday, the final two Texoma football teams will begin their fall practice.
It's the big boys: Wichita Falls and Rider high schools. Both 4A schools had spring practice, which meant they lost a week of fall practice. They also will only play one scrimmage this fall, because they play in Zero Week.
