One Injured in Apartment Fire

One person was injured in an apartment fire Sunday night in Wichita Falls.

Wichita Falls Fire Battalion Chief Mike Davis told Newschannel 6 the fire started in an apartment on Trigg Lane around 7:30 p.m.

One of the residents in that apartment suffered burns to their leg. They were treated at the scene and released.

Chief Davis said the fire started in the kitchen of an apartment. A fire extinguisher was reportedly used before seven fire units responded to the scene and put out the fire.

The Wichita Falls Fire Department is classifying the fire an accident.

The extent of damage to the apartment building is unknown at this time.
