TxDot New Law

A New Move Over Law is going into effect on Sunday September 1st.

It's aimed to reduce crashes and save lives on the roads.

The new addition of the law requires motorists to move out of the lane closest to the TxDot vehicle when possible or reduce speeds to 20 miles per hour below the posted limit.  However, if there are not multiple lanes the driver must slow down.

Violators can be fined up to $2,000.
