Week 1: HS Football Rankings Released

After a wild win over class 5A Abilene Cooper, the Rider Raiders moved up in this week's AP poll!

The Raiders moved up 2 spots to #8 in class 4A, just 2 points behind #7 Georgetown. They have another tough test this week against former district rival, now in 5A, Denton Ryan.

In the class 3A poll, the Graham Steers were unchanged at #8. They scored 30 points in the 1st quarter against Mineral Wells for an easy win. This week, they'll play their home opener against Brownwood.

In class IA, Munday fell out of the top 10 after their loss to Windthorst. But, they still received 11 total votes, while the Trojans picked up 4 votes of their own.

In 6-Man Football, a few Texoma teams are also climbing the rankings. In Division-I, 3 Texoma teams from the same district are in the top 10!

Throckmorton actually fell just barely behind Valley in the computer rankings, by less than half-a-point.

But, Crowell moved up from 8th to 7th after a convincing win over Rotan.

Knox City made the biggest jump, moving from 22nd to10th after blowing out a solid Paducah team.

In Division-II, Newcastle also made a nice jump. From 8th to 4th after beating Borden County.

After having zero week off... The Notre Dame Knights remained #2 in Tapps, Division-II.
