Fourth Annual Calle Ocho

Organizers are preparing now for the Fourth Annual Calle Ocho event, scheduled for Saturday, October 5, in Wichita Falls. The event will take place at the Farmer's Market downtown at Eighth and Ohio.

The Zavala Hispanic Cultural Initiative begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 11 p.m.

The cost to attend is $5 in advance, or $10 at the gate. You can spend $20 and get one ticket free, spend $50 and get three tickets free, or spend $100 and get five free tickets.

Children under 12 get in free!

The proceeds from the festival benefit Zavala's scholarship program.

There's also the chance to win some great prizes if you attend. Organizers stress this year's raffle item is great, thanks to Ashley Furniture. Organizers told Newschannel 6 a five piece queen bedroom set worth more than $800 will be up for grabs! It is available for viewing at Ashley Furniture.

This year's Calle Ocho event is expected to be better than ever with numerous activities for the whole family, including a Fun Run and a three hour Zumbathon, put on by the YMCA of Wichita Falls.

The Fun Run begins at 8 a.m. Zumba starts at 9 a.m.

Attendees can also take part in a car show to "showcase your ride!" It kicks off at 2 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m. Registration is $25.

Entertainment includes:

- Mario Macias

- Mariachi Quetzal

- Jessica Marinez

- Sabor Kolombia

Sponsors include, but may not be limited to:
