Woman Hit & Killed By Train

Wichita Falls Police tell Newschannel 6 a woman hit by a train near Old Iowa Park Rd, died from her injuries.

Police said the woman was dead when they arrived on scene shortly after 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Wichita Falls Police identified the woman as 49-year-old Vicki Lynn Rentschler. Her last known address was in Wichita Falls.

She was on foot, but police could not tell us if she was actually on the tracks or walking near them. 


Around 10 p.m. Saturday, streets were blocked because of the stopped train, from Vermont St., east toward downtown Wichita Falls.
