A family of four made it out of their burning home safely Tuesday morning.
Unfortunately the families pet was unable to make it out of the home.
Newschannel 6 crews are on the scene of the fire in the 1600 block of 22nd Street. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control quickly, but two rooms were destroyed.
Investigators said a cigarette was the cause of the fire.
Officials on scene told our crew one firefighter has minor injuries.
Katrina Farmer from the Red Cross said a team is on their way to the scene to help the displaced family.
