Dr Pepper Game of the Week - Week 2

For Week 2, our Dr Pepper Game of the Week features the Seymour Panthers visiting the Electra Tigers.

The teams have traded home wins the past two seasons, but they've exchanged more than that.

In 2011, the Tigers upset Seymour 31-28, behind first-year head coach Keith Ivy. But that offseason, when Rocky Smart moved to Clyde, Ivy took over at the school where his father coached in the 1980s.

In 2012, his Panthers defeated his former team in Seymour, 61-7.

Now he returns to Electra to face the Tigers, led by Mark Young, who was the other finalist for the Seymour job in 2011.

Most players on both sides say the coaching situation is not the biggest factor coming into the game, but some Electra players did say they still hope to prove Ivy was wrong to leave.

Check back all week to hear from players and coaches on both sides of the game, then tune in Friday at 10:30 for full coverage during the Friday Night High School Football Update!
