Arrest Warrant In Connection To Fire

An arrest warrant has now been issued in connection to house fire back in 2008.

Wichita Falls police believe Steven Lee Wells intentionally set a fire in the 1200 block of Taylor Street.

Antionette Hastings, Wichita Falls Fire Department, said a carpet sample taken from the living room proved that an accelerant was used.

Three people came forward in the months of June and July to give written statements to fire officials.  They said Steven Wells stuffed pillows into the homes fireplace, poured gasoline all over the place, lit a match, and then left the property.

The fire happened at Wells' ex-wife's house.  Flames also damaged the home next door.  Two firefighters were injured while battling the blaze.  Both suffered from heat exhaustion.
