Comanche Co. Man Withdraws Plea

Posted: Updated:

The Comanche County man who was sentenced to life in prison is now withdrawing his guilty plea.

David Lee Kemp was arrested for a double murder in 1998 and escaped from jail a year later.  He was on the run until April 2013 for the deaths of his ex-wife Cristina Cremer and her boyfriend Robert Miller.

The motion filed by Kemp shows he was pressured, coercer, and forced to enter his plea.  Kemp said the plea was not entered freely and voluntarily and should be set aside.

The judge has set a hearing on that motion for Monday.
