Woman On Fire In Wichita Falls

Newschannel 6 is working to learn more information about a woman on fire in Wichita Falls.

Wichita Falls Police, along with the Wichita County Sheriff's Office, responded to a call of a woman on fire around 12:30 a.m. Saturday at the Timber Apartments in the 500 block of Fillmore Street.

Witnesses told our crew on the scene the woman was in the parking lot near Kemp St. when her upper body and head reportedly exploded into flames.

Neighbors and a bystander were able to put out the flames on the woman, but she suffered serious burns.

The woman was taken to United Regional Hospital in an ambulance for life-threatening injuries.

Police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

No word yet on the woman's identity or her updated medical condition.
