Clay County Commissioner Pleads Guilty

A Clay County Commissioner on trial for Abuse of Official Capacity pleaded guilty in court Tuesday.
Albert Jerome Peek entered that plea before the jury came to court. Testimony had not started for the day.
Peek is ordered to pay a $200 fine.
He was indicted May 21, 2013 on a single count of the abuse.
He was accused of having a county employee use a county owned backhoe to clean out a ditch on private property in Precinct 4 to benefit the property owner.
The trial had been delayed because a key witness in the case died.
