Burkburnett Man On Way To City Manager Job

There is a new Assistant City Manager for the City of Burkburnett.
Monday night the Burkburnett Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to promote Director of Public Works, Mike Whaley to the position.
In 6 months, if he completes a specific state improvement program, Whaley will be promoted to City Manager.
He will have to make progress to complete the State of Texas Certified Public Manager Program that he is already enrolled in.

Whaley will continue to perform the Director of Public Works duties until he is promoted to City Manager. He replaces Tim James who left the city to take a position in Mesquite, Texas.
