Parsley Wins Texas Ford Player of the Week

Crowell junior quarterback Mitchell Parsley edged out Iowa Park's Derrick Ponder by the narrow margin of 17 votes out of nearly 3,200 to take our Texas Ford Player of the Week honors for Week 3!

Parsley completed 15 of 19 passes for 352 yards and eight touchdowns in a 78-40 win over then-#3 Valley. He also ran 11 times for 62 yards and another touchdown, while making 14 tackles and recording two interceptions on defense for the Wildcats, who moved to #4 in the latest Division I computer rankings.

Our third nominee, Electra's quarterback Michael Bishop, also received honors Wednesday, being named the Built Ford Tough Texas High School Player of the Week for Class A after rushing for 400 yards on 23 carries Friday against Haskell!
