Bark For Life!

Organizers are making their final preparations for this year's Bark For Life fundraising event!

The 2013 Bark For Life will be held Saturday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wichita Falls Dog Park, located off Fairway, near Langford. The price to participate is $10 per dog.

The event will be comprised of entertaining activities for humans and their dog best friends.

The American Cancer Society organizes the event with "the dog in mind." While dogs often provide companionship and care giving to cancer patients, some canines have also suffered from the deadly disease.

Bark For Life is a special fundraiser to raise money in the fight against all cancers.

The American Cancer Society is teaming up with Goodwill this year for a donation drive at Bark For Life. Goodwill will collect donations from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the dog park. All donations will be weighed and Goodwill will give Bark For Life $.10 per pound collected.

Donated items will be sold in Goodwill Stores; in turn, the money made is immediately channeled into many services within the community.

Diana Piatt and Kathy Rodriguez, along with Dixie, were guests on Newschannel 6 Saturday Morning to promote Bark For Life. To watch their live interview, play the video above.
