Munday's Ronny Lowrance Passes Away

Ronny Lowrance, who served as Munday High School's head track coach and football defensive coordinator for the past 11 years, died suddenly Sunday morning. He was 45 years old.

Lowrance led the Mogul track team to the past three Class A state championships, as well as helping the Mogul football team to state titles in 2007 and 2012.

Former Mogul star Dee Paul, now a freshman player at Texas Tech, tweeted Sunday: "Every time I step on the field or the track just know that I'm gettin one for my coach! R.I.P. coach lowrance!"

Lowrance also won a title as a player for the Moguls in 1984, giving him a part in all three of Munday's state football titles.

He previously coached at Electra, City View and Petrolia before returning home to Munday in 2003.

A candlelight vigil was held Sunday night in Munday.  Funeral services were Wednesday at 2:00p.m. at the Scruggs Field in Munday.
